Property Description

This beautiful property has it all and at an affordable price. The property is located on Island Run Road which is a quiet little dead end road just off of State Road 669 in Morgan County where it parallels the left bank of the Muskingum River. As you move away from the river along Island Run Road towards the property you will pass a small farm with an open field to the left. About 1500' back Island Run Road you will notice Island Run Creek move towards the roadway and you will enter a picturesque wooded canopy which encompasses the roadway and creek which runs close by its side. About another 900' down the road you will see 2 gates on the right and our property line is just between the gates. At this point if you look to the left of the road our frontage on Island Run Creek continues for a little more than 1000' and to the right through that 2nd gate is our new driveway leading back to the new cabin tucked away just out of sight from the road. As you enter up the driveway you will notice a nice little open area with a few small landscape trees and also the water well on the left side of the road. To the right off of the driveway is a nice new trail that ventures back up into the woods. The driveway continues back and the gravel ends at the new A-Frame cabin with a bright red roof that we just finished building on the property. The cabin has a large front porch and a small balcony off of the 2nd floor loft. The cabin is not huge, but is a nice comfortable getaway. To the right of the cabin is another new trail. About 100 yards up the trail you will come to a nice large clearing and you will notice that the main trail continues up to the right, but if you look to the left and continue up the small walking trail out the left side of the clearing you will walk around the bottom side of some very nice rock outcroppings. It is an easy climb to the top of the rocks and then on up to the nice wide dozed trail that takes you to the top of the ridge and the back of the property. As you walk back down the groomed dozer trail you will see the beautiful views of the ravines and woods and eventually get a glimpse of that big red roof again. Around the cabin is a nice groomed yard area and then below the cabin is a nice patch of woods giving you privacy from the road below. Island Run Creek basically makes up 2 sides of the property and it is generally wide and shallow on the property. There is a nice rocky bottom and a few deep holes for fishing and swimming, but I am sure after a decent rain you could take a canoe down to the Muskingum River which is only about 1/2 mile downstream. Island Run creek enters into the left bank of the Muskingum River about 2200' downstream from Rokeby Lock.No matter if you are a hunter, fisherman, or just simply enjoy being outdoors, this little property offers a whole lot for just a small price.
